Notre Dame baseball: Connaughton makes debut

Notre Dame right-hander Pat Connaughton pitched four innings Wednesday and took the loss for the Harwich (Mass.) Mariners in the opening game of the Cape Cod League.

Connaughton struck out three and walked two while allowing three runs and four hits in a 6-2 loss.

Connaughton plans to make a handful of starts and possible relief appearances with the Mariners before returning to Notre Dame for summer school and rejoining offseason basketball workouts.
