Notre Dame cross country: Curran paces Irish women
Kelly Curran finished in 17 minutes, 18.3 seconds to claim ninth place overall and spur the No. 19 Notre Dame women's cross country team to a sixth-place finish at the Notre Dame Invitational on Friday at Burke Golf Course.
Alexa Aragon finished in 16th place in 17:29.5 and Emily Frydrych was 47th in 17:55.0 for Notre Dame, which finished with 205 points.
Florida State won the women's race with 77 points.
On the men's side, Jeremy Rae finished in fifth place for Notre Dame in a time of 24:33.9 and Martin Grady turned in a 25:01.9. The Irish had with 236 points for a seventh-place finish.
Columbia won the men's race with 113 points.
Joey Zielinski and Miguel Lozano helped the IUPUI men to a fifth-place finish in the Gold race. Zielinski, a South Bend St. Joseph product, was fifth individually in 25:40.7, while Mishawaka's Lozano was 27th in 26:16.7.
