Notre Dame men's golf: Irish eighth after 1st round

Notre Dame sophomore Cory Sciupider birdied four of his final nine holes Monday to card a second round 1-over par 73 to close the first day of play in 19th place at the Indiana University Crooked Stick Intercollegiate in Carmel.

Notre Dame is eighth after a combined team score of 610 (306-304). The Irish enter the tournament’s third and final round six shots out of the top five.
