Notre Dame women's soccer: Irish fall in 2OT in ACC tourney

Jazmine Reeves’ golden goal with 1 minute, 13 seconds remaining in the second overtime lifted Virginia Tech to a 2-1 victory over Notre Dame in the quarterfinals of the women’s ACC soccer tournament Sunday in Blacksburg, Va.

Notre Dame (11-7-1) played the final 33-plus minutes one player down after Elizabeth Tucker received her second yellow card of the match at 75:24, with both cards coming less than 10 minutes apart.

Lauren Bohaboy staked Notre Dame to a 1-0 lead at 27:24, heading in a left-side cross from Kaleigh Olmsted. Virginia Tech (15-3-2) drew even at 56:36 when Candace Cephers connected on a rebound following a penalty kick. Kaela Little made eight saves to keep the Irish in contention.
