Notre Dame soccer: Irish women advance

Morgan Andrews scored two goals and 19th-ranked Notre Dame roared back from an early 1-0 deficit to oust Big Ten runner-up Iowa, 4-1, Friday night in NCAA women's soccer tournament first-round action at ND's Alumni Stadium.

The Irish (12-7-1), making their 21st consecutive NCAA run, advance to a second-round matchup next Friday against Western Michigan (10-5-5). The Broncos upset No. 2 seed and eighth-ranked Marquette, 1-0, Friday night in Milwaukee.

Katie Naughton added a goal for ND, and Elizabeth Tucker had a goal and an assist as the Irish outshot the first-time NCAA participant Hawkeyes (15-7-1) by a 32-4 count.
