Notre Dame soccer: Shipp award finalist
Notre Dame senior forward Harrison Shipp was named a finalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy on Thursday. The Hermann Trophy is awarded annually to the top individual player in collegiate soccer.
Shipp has scored 12 goals, including five game-winners, and notched eight assists in leading the Irish (15-1-6) to a share of the Atlantic Coast Conference regular-season title.
He was named the league's top offensive player and was the Capital One Academic All-American of the Year for men's soccer.
He has added three goals during Notre Dame's run to the College Cup, where they will face off against New Mexico tomorrow at 5:30 p.m. in a national semifinal in Chester, Pa.
The two other finalists are Patrick Mullins of Maryland and Leo Stolz of UCLA and the winner will be named at a banquet on Jan. 10, 2014.
