Notre Dame men's tennis: Covalschi earns honor

Notre Dame freshman Eddy Covalschi has been named the ACC Player of the Week after his 6-3, 5(5)-6, 6-4 victory over Ryuji Hirooka led the No. 29 Irish to an upset of eighth-ranked Kentucky.

Covalschi’s performance at No. 6 was the final singles match in the 4-3 upset victory. Covalschi was down, 4-3, in the third set.

Notre Dame’s hosts Kentucky Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Eck Tennis Pavilion.
