Notre Dame golf: Irish 8th in tourney

Notre Dame’s women’s team finished eighth at the Central District Invitational, Tuesday at Lakewood Ranch, Fla. Notre Dame’s overall score for the tournament was 881 (292-295-294, +17).

Irish sophomore Talia Campbell was at the top of the Irish leaderboard over the course of the three-round tournament. She carded a 219 (70-76-73, +3), and finished in a tie for 25th place.

Vanderbilt’s Simin Feng won medalist honors over Michigan State’s Allyssa Ferrell due to a scorecard playoff (tiebreaker started at hole 18, and Feng birdied, while Ferrell shot par). The 54-hole total of 207 is an individual tournament record.

Vanderbilt won and set a team tournament record with its score of 20-under 844.
