Notre Dame baseball: Santa Clara tops Irish

Notre Dame dropped an 8-7 decision to Santa Clara Sunday in San Antonio, Texas.

Santa Clara (5-4) went 4-0 on the weekend to claim the Irish Baseball Classic title.

The Irish (3-4) got four hits from Zak Kutsulis and three from Kyle Richardson in a 14-hit attack. Six pitchers combined to yield 11 hits and five walks. Two runs were unearned. Cavan Biggio had two RBIs.
