Notre Dame softball: Irish fall to Oregon in 9

In Cathedral City, Calif., No. 24 Notre Dame fell to No. 6 Oregon, 2-0, in nine innings on the final day Sunday of the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic.

The Irish (10-3) finished the tournament with a 4-2 record, and .341 batting average. They fell 5-3 to California then blanked Cal State Fullerton 8-0 on Saturday.

Against Oregon, Laura Winter (6-2) surrendered seven hits in nine innings. She did not allow a walk and fanned 10.
