Notre Dame softball: Irish hurler Winter sets K record

Senior Laura Winter set a career strikeout record in Sunday’s 12-0 shutout of Georgia Tech in Atlanta.

Winter surpassed All-American Terri Kobata (1996) with her 908th career strikeout in the fourth inning. Winter (11-2) gave up three hits and totaled seven strikeouts.

Micaela Arizmendi had a home run and three RBIs and Karley Wester had two hits.

Notre Dame is 17-4 and 2-1 in the ACC. Georgia Tech is 13-6 and 2-4.
