Notre Dame women's tennis: Irish knock off Florida Sate

Notre Dame’s women’s tennis team (6-6) registered its first Atlantic Coast Conference victory Sunday with a 6-1 home win over No. 25 Florida State.

In singles, freshman Mary Closs defeated Kristina Schleich in straight sets, 6-2, 7-6. Jennifer Kellner defeated Daniela Schippers at No. 3, 6-4, 6-3. Despite losing a quick first set, Quinn Gleason battled back to clinch the match for Notre Dame, beating Kerrie Cartwright, 2-6, 6-2, 6-1.

Monica Robinson and sophomore Julie Vrabel both finished off their matches after the Irish clinched.
