Notre Dame baseball: Connaughton debuts
Notre Dame basketball standout Pat Connaughton made his season debut for the Irish baseball team on Saturday in game two of a doubleheader sweep at the hands of Duke. The Blue Devils posted 4-1 and 1-0 victories at Durham, N.C.
Connaughton, who earlier in the week finished his junior season on the basketball floor, went three innings and did not allow a run. He allowed three hits, struck out one and walked two in throwing 51 pitches. He did not factor in the decision.
The Irish, who collected a combined 10 hits on the day, dropped to 6-12 overall and 0-6 in the ACC.
