Notre Dame men's lacrosse: Irish top No. 7 Cavs

A seven-goal second quarter and a nine-goal fourth quarter put the No. 11 Notre Dame men’s lacrosse team well on its way to an 18-9 victory over No. 7 Virginia on Sunday inside the Loftus Sports Center.

The win pushed the Irish to 2-0 in the Atlantic Coast Conference and 3-2 overall. The Cavaliers are 6-2 (1-1 ACC).

Sophomore Matt Kavanagh had four goals and two assists to lead ND and junior Nick Ossello had his first hat trick.
