Notre Dame track and field: Giesting 5th at Indoors

The Notre Dame men’s track team finished 17th and the women’s team 29th at the NCAA Indoor Championship in Albuquerque, N.M., over the weekend.
ND’s weekend was highlighted by Chris Giesting’s fifth place finish in the 400-meter dash finals in a time of 45.74. Teammate Patrick Feeney was seventh in 46.19.
Jeremy Rae placed ninth in the finals of the men’s mile with a time of 4:05.07.
The men’s 1,600 relay team of Giesting, Feeney, Harvey Smith and Jarrod Buchanon was eighth in a time of 3:08.51
On the women’s side, junior Jade Barber finished seventh in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 8.10.
