Notre Dame hockey: Johns recognized

Notre Dame senior defenseman Stephen Johns has been selected as Hockey East’s co-defensive player of the week along with UMass-Lowell goaltender Connor Hellebucyk for the week ending March 16.

Johns was instrumental in Notre Dame’s two games-to-one series victory against Boston College in the Hockey East quarterfinals, with three goals and one assist.

Notre Dame moves on to T.D. Garden in Boston on March 21 to face UMass-Lowell at 5 p.m. in one of Hockey East’s semifinal games.
