Notre Dame baseball: Irish move games

Staff reports
ND Insider

The particularly rough winter continues to wreak havoc on the Notre Dame baseball team’s schedule.

Unable to play on their campus field, the Irish have been seeking sanctuary at fields around the region.

One such solution has been deemed unsuitable for the time being. Poor field conditions at the U.S. Steel Yard in Gary, Ind., have forced the Irish to move their Saturday and Sunday games against Virginia Tech to Westfield, Ind.

The two games will take place at Grand Park (711 E. 191st Street in Westfield), which is about a half-hour drive north of Indianapolis. Game times are set for 4:30 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday. Admission will be free for both games.

The Irish and Hokies will kick off the weekend series at 5:35 p.m. Friday at Four Winds Field.
