Notre Dame golf: Irish men in 11th

In San Antonio, Texas, Monday, Notre Dame posted a second round 4-under 284 in the Lone Star Invitational at the Briggs Ranch Golf Club to enter the final round Tuesday in 11th place.

The Irish are at 586 (302-284, 10-over).

Niall Platt shot a 3-under par 69 (74-69-143) to tie for 16th place. Patrick Grahek shot an even par 72 and has a share of 19th place

No. 20 New Mexico opened a 9-stroke lead in the team competition carding rounds of 281-282-563 (13-under). No. 38 Purdue carded the best score of the tournament, firing a combined 280. Southeastern Louisiana (288-285) and No. 25 Baylor (283-290) are tied for third place at 3-under-par 573.
