Notre Dame baseball: Irish clip Crusaders

Notre Dame’s Nick McCarty scattered three hits and allowed one run with five strikeouts for his first win Wednesady in a 4-1 victory over Valparaiso at Fourt Winds Field.

McCarty is 1-5.

Third baseman Kyle Fiala led the Irish (9-14) with three hits. Left fielder Zak Kutsulis and catcher Ryan Lidge each had two hits for Notre Dame.

Third baseman Michael Morman led the Crusaders (9-10) with two hits.
