Notre Dame baseball: Irish rained out
Spring storms in the Tallahassee, Fla., area postponed Saturday night’s game between Notre Dame and No. 1 Florida State at Dick Howser Stadium.
The teams will play a Sunday doubleheader beginning at 10 a.m. on ESPNU.
Notre Dame dropped an 8-7 decision to Florida State in 12 innings Friday night.
FSU overcame a two-run deficit late in the game. The Irish trailed 5-2 in the eighth, but exploded for five runs.
In extras, the Irish had plenty of opportunities to take the lead as they had a runner on third with two outs in the 10th, had the bases loaded with one out in the 11th and runners on second and third with one out in the 12th.
Blaise Leznyski had three hits for the Irish.
The Irish (10-18, 1-12 ACC) fell to 3-9 in one-run games. The crowd was reported at 5,678.
