Notre Dame women's lacrosse: No. 1 Orange top Irish

Top-ranked Syracuse opened the game with an 8-0 spurt en route to an 18-10 win over Notre Dame Saturday in South Bend.

Kaitlyn Brosco led No. 9 Notre Dame with a goal and three assists and Cortney Fortunato, Kiera McMullan and Casey Pearsall each had two goals.

The Orange (15-1, 6-1) clinched a share of the league championship.

Notre Dame (9-7, 2-5) is the No. 7 seed for the upcoming ACC Tournament and will play the second-seeded Orange when the tournament begins in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
