Notre Dame softball: Irish sweep BC

Notre Dame pounded out 25 runs on 28 hits to pick up a 12-4, 13-8 doubleheader sweep of Boston College Saturday in South Bend.

The Irish ran their win streak to six games and clinched the second seed in the ACC Tournament, which begins on Thursday.

In game one, Emilee Koerner went 3-for-3 with a double and one of three Irish home runs. Lauren Stuhr added a home run and so did Laura Winter, who struck out eight and picked up the win.

In the second game, Koerner added two more hits and three more driven in. Winter added another home run and drove in four for Notre Dame (36-10, 15-5).
