Notre Dame tennis: Gleason wins opener

Notre Dame’s Quinn Gleason beat Stanford’s Ellen Tsay, 6-3, 7-6 (5), in the first round of the NCAA Singles Championship on Wednesday in Athens, Ga.

The Irish sophomore advances to face No. 12-ranked Breaunna Addison of Texas in Thursday’s second round.

Also on Thursday, Gleason will team up with senior Britney Sanders to play Courtney Colton and Lauren Mira of Vanderbilt in the first round of the doubles championship.
