The Notre Dame track and field teams wrapped up their 2014 NCAA outdoor championships appearance on Saturday with junior Emily Morris finishing 22nd in the nation in the women’s shot put with a throw of 15.15m.
Notre Dame had a successful week in Eugene. Four Irish earned first team All-American honors while three school records fell. Senior Alexa Aragon broke her own school record in the women’s steeplechase, senior Michelle Brown and sophomore Margaret Bamgbose both broke the record in the women’s 400 with Brown’s time of 51.70 setting a new school record. The men’s 4x400 relay team shaved a tenth of a second off the previous Notre Dame record.
The Irish women finish the season with a 32nd place finish at the NCAAs, while the men finished in 64th.
