Last time out: Notre Dame beat No. 6 Miami (Ohio), 3-2 in OT on Dec. 28, and lost to Lake Superior State, 2-1, in the championship game of the Florida College Hockey Classic on Dec. 29; Western Michigan fell to Colgate, 2-1 on Dec. 12, then beat Penn State, 4-1 on Dec. 13, in the Three Rivers Classic in Pittsburgh.

Notable: Western Michigan won the Shillelagh Tournament at Compton Family Ice Arena back in late November by beating Ohio State, 6-2, then dismantling defending national champion Union the next day, 8-2… Notre Dame has the country’s worst power play at just 6 percent efficiency… The Broncos have the nation’s sixth-best power play at 22.7 percent… Robbie Russo leads the Irish in scoring with 17 points (seven goals, 10 assists), which is fifth best in the country among defensemen...
