SOUTH BEND — Jack Jenkins scored his third goal of the season at 7:28 in the third period and No. 12 Notre Dame won its fifth straight with a 3-1 triumph over Michigan Tech Friday night at the Compton Family Ice Arena.

Dylan Malmquist and Andrew Peeke assisted on Jenkins' game-winner, which put the Irish up 2-1. Joe Wegwerth added an unassisted insurance goal, his fifth of the year, at 13:24 for the final margin.

Jake Evans staked Notre Dame (12-6-2) to a 1-0 lead at 15:00 in the second period on assists from Jordan Gross and Anders Bjork, but the Huskies (13-9-3) tied the game on Joel L'Esperance's power play goal less than a minute into the third.

L'Esperance's goal ended junior goalkeeper Cal Petersen's shutout streak at 207:10, which is the second longest streak in program history. The Irish captain made 27 saves.
