Johnson has five hits in Irish baseball win
Jake Johnson went 5-for-5 with a double and a couple of runs driven in as Notre Dame inched closer to the .500 mark with a 10-2 win over Western Michigan on Tuesday at Frank Eck Stadium.
Daniel Jung homered and drove in three, and Jake Shepski went deep with a pair of RBIs for Notre Dame (26-27).
Charlie Vorsheck improved to 5-0 with 61/3 innings of work. He gave up two runs on six hits with a walk and a pair of strikeouts. Notre Dame will close its regular season with a three-game road trip to Boston College starting on Thursday.
