Notre Dame recruit Turner Gatorade Player of the Year

Notre Dame women’s basketball recruit Brianna Turner, a 6-3 forward who led Manvel High School to the Texas Class 5-A state championship, has been named the 2013-2014 Gatorade National Girls Basketball Player of the Year.
Turner had 17 points and 17 rebounds to help Manvel beat No. 1 Duncanville, which entered the state title game with a 105-game winning streak.
A four-time USA Basketball Gold medalist and a Parade All-American, Turner averaged 20.8 points, 11.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 3.9 blocks and 3.7 steals this season. She scored 2,318 points in her career.
