Notre Dame women’s basketball recruit Arike Ogunbowale won Wisconsin’s Miss Basketball award on Saturday, then later that night showed why.

The 5-foot-9 guard scored 27 points with nine assists, eight rebounds and five blocks as Milwaukee Divine Savior Holy Angels captured the Wisconsin Division I state title, smothering previously unbeaten D.C. Everest, 64-29, in Green Bay, Wis.

Ogunbowale, who scored a state tourney-record 55 points in a semifinal win over Middleton on Friday night, had more field goals (9) than D.C. Everest amassed as a team (8) on Saturday. She was 9-of-18 from the field, 4-of-5 from the 3-point arc and 5-of-6 from the free-throw line.

She becomes the second in ND’s three-player 2015 recruiting class to win a state title this winter. Ali Patberg led Columbus North to the Indiana Class 4-A championship on March 7.

Marina Mabrey’s Manasquan High team plays for the New Jersey Group 2 state championship on Sunday.
