Post Danielle Cosgrove commits to Notre Dame women's basketball

Danielle Cosgrove, a 6-foot-3 junior post player from Sachem East High School in Farmingville, N.Y., has committed to play basketball for the Notre Dame women's basketball team.

Cosgrove announced her decision in a tweet late Monday night.

Cosgrove was ranked 48th overall and No. 8 at her position by ESPN. As a sophomore, she averaged 22.8 points and 12.7 rebounds. Her statistics from this season were not available.

According to ESPN, Cosgrove was also considering Colorado, Florida, Vanderbilt and South Carolina along with the Irish.

Cosgrove joins 5-9 Jenna Brown of Atlanta, 5-10 Abby Prohaska of West Chester, Ohio, and 5-11 Katlyn Gilbert of Heritage Christian High School in Indianapolis in 2018 class.
